I'm New

The Eastside church of Christ is a group of Christians in the Sharpsburg, GA, area striving to bring glory and honor to our God and to our Savior, Jesus Christ.  We are an independent, undenominational church that seeks to base all of our practices on the teachings and examples of the New Testament.

The Christians who make up the church at Eastside are people who have understood that sin separates mankind from God, and that Jesus Christ is the only way of having that sin removed.  Believing in Jesus and confessing Him as the Son of God, the saints at Eastside have repented of the sins that separated us from God, and have been buried with Christ in baptism to have those sins washed away (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3, 4; Galatians 3:26, 27).  Now, as members of His church, we strive to humbly follow Christ’s will and help one another “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).

The work of this local church is simple, for we have the same goal as Christians in the New Testament: we labor to spread the truth of the gospel, so that people might come to know the redeeming power of the blood of Christ and souls might be saved.  We desperately want our families, friends, and neighbors to be saved from their sins, and we understand that such salvation comes only through Jesus Christ (John 14:6).  We want our fellow Christians to be built up in the faith, so that we all might be properly equipped as disciples of the Lord.  Above all, we want God Almighty to be glorified through our service to Him, for we know that He is worthy of all honor.

Please take the time to visit with us.  You will notice that our worship practices are based upon the standard of the New Testament.  On Sunday morning, we gather together to partake of the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of His death.  We lift our voices to sing praises to the Lord and to teach and admonish one another with grace in our hearts (Colossians 3:16).  We pray together, humbly approaching God’s throne.  We give back to the Lord as we have been prospered, in order to support the spiritual work done in this place.  We study God’s word and reason from the Scriptures together.  In our other assemblies on Sunday and Wednesday evenings, we come together again to sing praises and study from the Scriptures.  We welcome you to come and visit with us!
